IBM, Start & The Prince of Wales

What: “Start is an initiative inspired by The Prince Of Wales that aims to show what a sustainable future could look like and to demonstrate the simple steps we can all take to make better use of our natural resources. [IBM is] proud to be one of the founding partners of Start along with Addison Lee, ASDA, B&Q, BT, EDF Energy, M&S, Virgin Money and Waitrose.”

Why: “[IBM] recognise[s] that a sustainable future is most likely to be achieved when sustainability produces tangible business benefits. That’s why we’re so excited about the Start initiative – it’s about taking positive steps to create a world that works better, just like our Smarter Planet agenda.”

How: “[IBM has] been invited to lead business activities with a Summit at Lancaster House in London. It will illustrate the challenges we face and provide an inspiring new starting point from which to build a smarter and more socially, economically and environmentally sustainable future. The Summit will be an exclusive opportunity for leaders in business and government, academics and subject matter experts to gather behind closed doors to work towards a set of actionable recommendations for business in the UK.”
